TONY AND MATTHEW MET IN ASHEVILLE, AND QUICKLY FOUND THEY WERE BOTH DRIVEN BY A SIMILAR PASSION FOR FOOD, TRAVEL, AND ENTERTAINING.

THEY LAUNCHED FOOD EXPERIENCE IN 2007 TO BRING THEIR BOUTIQUE STYLE OF FULL SERVICE CATERING TO EVERYONE.

A “self-taught” cook and avid gardener, I am passionate about the local food growers, artisans and folks who work in the food business here in Asheville. They are the salt of the earth and they reflect the diverse people and culture that thrive here.
I bring my past with me… my New York Italian roots as well as my life on the West Coast. Asheville and the mountains have forever changed me. I love being part of this place and community.

Matthew Macon

Owner/Marketing

Adopted from Bangladesh by Missionaries, I have lived all over NC but always considered the mountains home. After graduating from NC State and living on the coast,  I returned home to Asheville in 2003. Culinary traditions from India, China, the North (my Mom) and of course NC (my Dad) can be seen in my love of exotic, and not so exotic,  foods and flavors.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Andy, and our son, Kirby, cooking at home, biking, hiking, and exploring Western North Carolina.

I am passionate about running the "Experience" side of the business and a perfectionist when it comes to service.
